Goodness Gracious...it has been one year!!

One year of blissful marriage.

One year of becoming closer and knowing more about the man I'm going to spend the rest of my life with.

One year of 2 graduate students living under one roof--living off of LOTS of loans.

One year of learning about each other's little habits, routines, and weirdness.

One year of coming closer to God through a great bible study he led us to.

One year of always having my best friend by my side.

One year that I would NEVER change

Let's do a little reflecting if you don't mind on the big day and how we got here to celebrate June 26th together!

Well, that's that. Time for another awesome year together with many new and exciting things to come. I think we have definitely learned a lot and will be learning more as I start a REAL job, Michael will begin his Residency search and start working in July and many other things!!

Also, I would like to wish a very happy Birthday to Michael's mother Jan! Without her, we wouldn't be able to celebrate this occasion and she cannot be forgotten on this special day!

Hopefully tomorrow we will be getting a little weekend recap of our time spend in Madisonville and at the B&B!

Celebrations!

Hey Folks!! It's June 25th which means 2 things, well maybe 3 things to me!

1. It is my cousin Neal's 20th Birthday today!! (isn't he good lookin'?!)

You know I will never forget his birthday because it is a day before our wedding anniversary. Neal is a fun guy and I love hanging out with him. He's also super smart, creative, and knowledgeable. He is currently in school studying architecture and man this dude knows a lot about it, when visiting him in ATL he would notice the slightest things about the architecture of the buildings downtown. I am glad some people take the time to notice the little things, it makes us appreciate life so much more if we see the little joys in life! Well anyway, I wanted to wish my baby cousin Neal (youngest boy cousin) a VERY happy Birthday. You are in your twenties!! How weird is that!! I hope you have a great day and get to see you very soon! Love you!

2. It is my friend Maggie's wedding day! -- (Maggie is the one in the middle)

She's a super sweet and fun girl in my MSACC program and I have gotten to know her through out the year. She is the reason we are in Madisonville, KY this weekend. I am super pumped about her outdoor wedding on her parents farm, and even more exciting is the fact that apparently they will be having a margarita machine at the reception, BALLA!!

Best wishes to Maggie and Thomas Lefler as they begin their lives together (of course after we graduate in August) in NYC, she's gonna be  a super cool NYC CPA resident, awesome!

3. And of course, last but not least, it is the day before our 1-year wedding anniversary! Man how this past year has flown by, and it's been great. I can't complain at all, but more about that tomorrow! :)

I hope you all have a lovely Saturday and please pray for no rain in Madisonville between like 5-midnight!!

Weekend get-away?! Yes, please!

Hey friends, later this afternoon me and my handsome hubby will be sending off our boys to grandma and grandpa's house and then heading to Madisonville, KY for a wedding AND our one-year anniversary! :) :) :) x 1,000,000!

We will be spending our anniversary weekend at a cute little bed and breakfast in Madisonville, KY at the Ruby Lodge (Michael and I have never stayed at a B&B so hopefully it's a great first experience!):

Isn't it adorable?!(you can find out more about it here) I picked the BRIGHTEST, most modern looking room there: The Florida Room

The place also has a pool which I hope we get to hang out by. (and maybe study by, my CPA exam is a week from today, YIKES!) By only if the weather starts looking a little better!
Well that's about it for now, I'm at work and gotta get some studying done!!! Have a great Friday everyone!! I look forward to filling you in about our weekend away!

"Off the Hook"

Hey Folks. Sooo either ya'll weren't feelin the workout Wednesday post OR you didn't get a chance to read it. If you haven't, read and let me know what you think! I'll try it again and if no one says anything I may not continue it. Just trying to shake things up a bit!

What do you all think of the semi-changed layout of the blog? Lela came over yesterday (she's in town for the week, visiting from WV) and helped me do some code to get this new header, it took some time, and I'm pretty happy with it, I will make some changes to it later when I have more time, but this is good for now. I feel it's more fun and not boring! What do you think?! I of course used the "Instagram" app on Michael's Iphone to create the effects on the photos.

Well anyway...back to "Off the Hook". This is in reference to what Adrielle and I did tonight. Last Sunday Southland Christian (our church) advertised a children's program for preschool and elementary aged children called "Off the Hook". I didn't really know much about what was going to happen at it, but I thought, hey Adrielle is elementary aged, let's try this out!! And we went!!
Adrielle and I arrived at Southland and entered the HUGE auditorium, it was PACKED with children. It was crazy!! We luckily ran into 2 lovely couples: Laura & Wes and Justin & Shannon, so we had friends to sit with! The program started as the lights went down and oh my goodness, this was a production. It was great, entertaining for children and parents. There was "Finding Nemo" music in the background, acting, skits, some worship music, dancing, singing, and a little lesson at the end about "Forgive, Forget, Foooorever", which the kids shouted over and over.  Everything was under the sea themed, bright, sparkly and fun (there were even bubble machines!). The props were also SUPER impressive, they had huge jellyfish floating all around the room, and a gigantic sting ray that flapped as it flew around the room (it was driven around on a bike contraption).

The production was exactly an hour and you could tell when the kids started to get a little antsy. The room got loud and there was a lot of movement. I mentioned to Laura that this room had A LOT of energy!! Sadly the kids were distracted during the message section, but I'm sure some were still listening. Something I LOVED was seeing all the kids dance and sing and clap, excited about the music and watching the skit with wide eyes and interest.

Overall, I think this was a great production, fun, and got Adrielle and I talking about forgiving others. She LOVED it, and we sang the little mermaid music all the way home. She asked if they could do it again next week, haha! Love her! So I would definitely recommend this program to those with children, who are mentors, or for people who know children. I mean it's free, you can't even think of an excuse now can you?!?

All in all a good evening, what more can I say?! Nothing...goodnight!

How I Worked out Wednesday

So I thought it would be nice to get some consistency into my blog and also some accountability. So I decided to start posting a "How I Worked out Wednesday" and list the workouts I did in the previous week. I feel that health and exercise is very important for everyone so why not talk about it a little, it wouldn't hurt, plus I wouldn't be boring you with the daily what-I-did stuff!! So let's try it out and see how it feels...
Because Reese is awesome and likes to workout too!

So I won't actually be discussing my workout from Wednesday but everything leading up to that, here we goooooooo:

Wednesday: Ran 6 miles. This was my death run that I felt like I was going to vomit the entire time.

Thursday: Walked the dogs 2-ish miles. I wasn't feeling well (had a tummy-ache) so I decided a brisk walk with the pups would suffice for a workout

Friday: No real workout: work, pool, NKY..BUT I did dance for a few hours and I was pretty sweaty, so I will count that

Saturday: Was I alive Saturday?! UH no, I was the corpse of a person. AKA, I was TIRED! Remember?! Yeah, sorry, lazy!

Sunday: uh oh, already missing 2 days in a row?! Whaaa?! Well yes, Michael and I planned on going to the gym after church but it didn't end up happening. Lazy-kins?! si senor! (**see, this is why I need this, so I don't go 3 full days without working out, bad Ashley!**)

Monday:  AWESOME workout day! Met Katrina at the gym and did the 20-minute "Guns" class. This week was a killer compared to last, we did about a million push ups and other things, I can barely drive today, so sore! Then we hit up some "Turbo Kick" - 50 minutes of intense Kickboxing to dance music cardio (I've discussed this class in a previous post). I was SO sweaty in this class, it was a great workout though, woke up to sore thighs from this class!

Tuesday: Another awesome workout. Rode my bike up to the JC and back, altogether about 4.5 miles. I think I could have made it up there in about the same time if I had ran, honestly, I am not very good at biking, it makes me tired. I think my bike is too heavy...anyone wanna buy me a shiny pretty road bike?! At the gym I did some interval running. Here's what it panned out to be:

1 mile - Warm up at 6.8
2 miles of 1 minute intervals: 6.9, 8.5, 6.9, 8.5, etc.
1 mile - Cool down at 7.0

I did 4 miles in about 33  minutes, and man was I sweaty and tired from sprinting, what I great workout though, totally enjoyed it!

**Michael also worked out tonight in a different way-- there was an intramural 5k at the JC and he ran in it. I had no idea and was on my way to workout when he informed me. About 12 people ran in it (teheee!) but Michael came in 3rd! It apparently was on a cross country course and the grass was super long, so it was hard! I informed Michael that yes, cross country is hard, I did it for 4 years! Apparently there was a guy pushing a stroller through this crazy long grass, which I view as impressive!

So that's the weekly wednesday workout review -- does anyone like it? Should I keep doing it? Comments and suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

10 things you may not know about me...

1. I'm left handed -- maybe I'll die 7 years earlier like many say, but who really knows?!

2. I have terrible vision --> - 4.75 in each eye (folks, I cannot see the big "E" on the eye chart) I got glasses in 3rd grade but was ashamed of them and didn't start wearing contacts/glasses until like maybe 8th grade, how did I make it through life not being able to see ANYTHING?!

3.  I am obsessed with my daily routines. Specifically my bed-time routine. It just feels right to do the same thing every day :)

4. I have a ridiculous collection of t-shirts -- some dating back to like middle school -- and I just can't seem to part with any of them and I still wear them... am I weird?!

5. I have terribly sweaty hands -- I was also nervous to hold hands with Michael when we started dating cause I didn't want him to think I was gross. You know those situations when like everyone is holding hands for a group prayer or something and then when it's done you noticed they wipe their hands on their pants to remove the nasty amounts of sweat you leave on their palms...well yes, those situations have made me self conscious.

6. I have a large round freckle/sun spot that comes out in the summer on the very tip of my nose, basically like a brown rudolph nose. EVERYONE thinks that I have dirt on my nose and sometimes they try to wipe it off... Fail... Becca actually was the first this summer to tell me about my dirty brown nose.

7. My ring size is a 3.75 and apparently that is really small. I didn't know this until I went to get fits for my engagement ring. I never wore rings before because they made me feel nervous, that they would get stuck and then my hands would swell up and then I really couldn't get the rings off. OUCHY!

8. When I was little Amanda and I used to get perms, cause curly hair was cool. I stopped in middle school sometime. Then in high school all of a sudden my hair was curly. It was a weird miracle. Haha, why was I paying for these perms?!
Curly Hair During High school

9 I hate the smell of seafood.... which is probably why I do not like a lot of seafood, why do you wanna eat something that smells like THAT?!?!

10.  I gave up soda one year for lent in high school and never went back! Now when I do drink it, which is rare, I get extremely burpy and my tummy hurts because of the bubbles. I will however make an exception for root beer which I have ALWAYS loved since childhood. Probably because I thought that A&W root beer sounded like my initials... ANW (Ashley Nicole Webb)..yeah they named a root beer after me, duh!

Crazy Weekend!

Finally, the long-awaited real blog post. Sorry about the lame (well not lame because my husband is wonderful and when I weakily say from the bedroom, "Will you please post something for me", he gladly does it, what a awesome husband) posts of lately, Saturday night I was just plain exhausted from going out Friday evening and Sunday evening I had a migraine so I couldn't look at the computer. So I said aloud what to write and Michael gladly did it! Good boy!!

Anywho wanna hear about my weekend?! Well first off, remember on Thursday how I went to get Orange Leaf with Catherine? Well...maybe I mentioned that. Here's a pic of my chocolate free froyo! And you know what?! I can eat chocolate again today and I haven't even thought about it. Weird!
YUM!!
So let's get to Friday. I spent the day at the pool with my awesome friend Shelley and her boyfriend Eric!! We definitely soaked up some sun. My rear end is still feeling the pain of the sun. Oh well, I am now tan!! After the pool I rushed over to the JC tennis courts to say hello and goodbye to Michael who had arrived back for good from Ashland. Sadly due to my "Amanda plans" I only got to see him for about 5 minutes before rushing off to NKY for the evening.

So I hurried home, showered, packed and went over to 509 to grab me a Becca and head up to NKY where Amanda met us at my parents house and then we went over and picked up Azra and Christina!! What a fun night we had. We started out at the Hofbrahaus, which honestly, I was not impressed with. The service was T-E-R-R-I-B-L-E. It took us like 30 minutes to get a glass of water!! But we had a good time chatting with each other and people watching:

Amanda and Becca were the only 2 to try a German Beer

Becca and I split a sampler -- it was weird. She is holding up spiraled radishes. Yes. Radishes. They tasted good while eating them but we definitely had nasty radish burps ALL night long! GROSS!
After Hofbrahaus we did something REAL classy. In order to save money we went to the liquor store across the street and purchased some coconut rum and a 2-liter of coke. After parking the car in Mt. Adams we enjoyed our cheap drinks in the car and then headed up to the bars to celebrate Amanda's birthday!

We had a great time in Mt Adams (Cincy). We first went to a bar that did not have a cover and played fooseball in the back! FUN! Then we headed over to the Pavilion and danced the night away!! We were sweaty stinky girls but we had a BLAST!

After Azra, our DD, got us to her house, Amanda, Becca, and I departed for some Steak and Shake before crashing at my parents house. We didn't make to bed until almost 4. This girl does not do late, and I was up and at em' until 4 go me!

Gotta love a junior strawberry shake! (no chocolate!)

The next morning I woke up EXHAUSTED. But forced me and Bec into the car and up to Brusters to get some ice cream and then we went over and saw the newly engaged Olivia!! WOO WOOO!! So glad to see her!!

On the drive back to Lex, Bec and I encountered many creepy highway drivers that apparently were trying to flirt with the very tired looking girls in a Civic (us). We were afraid at one point that the 2 separate cars with 1 guy in each would sandwich us and then attack us. Scary. But they eventually left us behind!!

As soon as I got home I got a much needed 30 min. nap and then headed to a beautiful wedding of Michael's friend Amber. We had a good time, enjoyed some good food and then I peaced out for bed!

And that wraps up Saturday

Sunday - we woke up and went to 10 o'clock church. Then went our separate ways. Michael to his parents, me over to Lisa's parents for Father's day where each of us enjoyed good food and golf on television!! And that's about it for the weekend. Sorry for the monster post, I was falling WAY behind!!
