Happy Tuesday everyone! I hope you survived the Monday like Tuesday after a great holiday weekend!! I had another one of my LONG classes today and will be having the last one tomorrow! Praise the Lord!!

Anywhooo wanna hear about my Memorial Day Holiday!?! Well I'll tell ya!
- First of all, I was going to go canoeing with Michael's sister but ended up not allowing myself because of the expensiveness, major studying that I needed to get done in the morning, and the fact that Michael wouldn't get to come along (we have a list of things to do this summer, and I didn't want to check it off without him!). Oh the downfalls of being frugal, missing out on the fun!!
- I got up and studied, yes, I really did
-I hit up Macy's for their "Memorial Day Sale" to get deals on wedding registry stuff...that was a fail only 1 of the 3 things I purchased off registries were on sale...oh well... at least I have 3 wedding gifts out of the way. I think there are still at least 5 other weddings we have to go to this year. It's crazy...is everyone married now?!
-Then it was time for the good stuff... POOL TIME!!

I packed up some of the leftover Caprese Pasta Salad, some hummus and bagel chips, carrots, iced tea, break-and-bake chocolate chip cookies, and some bevs and headed over to Becca's pool!! We had a great time, we were out at the pool from 12:30-5:30. I got some sun, but it really isn't half as bad as I thought it would be today. So yay, tanness without the pain! wooo!! Becca had a great get together there were about 12 people there that just hung out and sat and talked and some of us even tried to hide in the shade because it was such a hot day! it was in the 90s! Lets just say we were sweating most of the time! Here are the very limited pictures I took at the pool:

So after a good night's rest came my long class. Afterward Michael and I convinced ourselves to head up to the gym. I did 4 miles on the treadmill, which I haven't done in a while. And since I had lathered myself up in Aloe Lotion for my burn, I was sweating a ridiculous amount. There were beads of sweat seen on my everywhere, it looked like I had stepped out of the shower, not to forget that it was HOT inside!

After great workouts we headed home for din din. I made meatball sandwiches on Hawaiian bread and it was yum yum in our tum tums!! And you know what else I did today?! I did not have dessert, not with lunch, not with dinner. Y'all, this is beyond impressive for me, I normally have to have dessert with every meal. I guess that's what I was used to growing up and continued it into adulthood. BAD Habit! but I am proud of myself, even if it may only last a day!!
Michael was able to catch the salt falling on his veggies!
Well that's about it for now. Michael leaves for Ashland again in the morning. So grateful for the holiday weekend and that he was able to be back for so long! He'll be back again Friday evening, but it'll definitely be quiet around here!

Tired

So I'm tired. I spent a long day in the sun and I'm spent. Maybe I'll post about today tomorrow?! But for now I'm off to bed! Goodnight!

Sunday, May 29, 2011

I'm feeling lazy today and I'm sure you are getting bored with me filling you in about my day...soooo it's survey time!! I found one survey and it asked questions that seemed like it could get some personal info from you that may be used in security questions and stuff so I definitely avoided this one. This one focuses on food...hope you enjoy!

A is for Apple, what’s your favorite variety?
Honeycrisps are delicious BUUUT too expensive for me. So I've been buying Granny Smiths like crazy recently. I was eating Galas but I got like 4 nasty ones in a row. Had to stop that.

B: is for Bread, regardless of nutrition, calories, or whole grains what is your favorite type to have a nice big piece of?
Tastefully Simple's Beer Bread is to die for. SO GOOD!! You should try it!

C: is for Cereal what is your favorite kind currently (just one!)
Currently, you all should know this, Special K Vanilla Almond. Growing up I did not really like cereal because it freaked me out when it got all soggy and gross. But I did really enjoy good ol' plain Kixs. Michael thinks they are gross, plain, and boring. I disagree!

D: is for Doughnuts, you might not currently be eating them but what kind do you fancy?
MMMMM...doughnuts!! I try to avoid these yummy things but of course I've mentioned my love for powdered doughnuts and if I were to buy them at a bakery I'd get a doughnut with chocolate icing and rainbow sprinkles, what a fun way to start your day!

E: is for Eggs, how would you like yours prepared?
Over easy or fried for some yummy dippage! I was recently re-introduced to eggs in that style, I had only been eating them scrambled but the ooey gooey yummyness is great and wonderful for dipping your toast in!

F: is for Fat Free, what is your favorite fat free product?
A big tub of Vanilla Yogurt

G: is for Groceries, where do you purchase yours at?
Kroger...or if you're from Kentucky you would call it Krogers or The Krogers. Why must everything be plural?

H: is for Hot Beverages, what is your favorite hot drink?
hmmm.... I suppose hot chocolate?

I: is for Ice Cream, pick a favorite flavor and add a fun topping.
Birthday Cake from Brusters. I am ALWAYS willing to add sprinkles to any kind of ice cream. They add a nice crunch. If I'm at Orange leaf though getting froyo I would have to say pomegranate and blueberry with granola is delish!
J: is for Jams or Jellies, do you eat them, and if so what kind and flavor?
Yes! I love Jams and Jellies. Sadly in our poor state I just buy Kroger brand grape jelly. If I could afford whatever kind I want I would get a raspberry Jam, yum!

K: is for Kashi, name your favorite Kashi product?
Not a fan of Kashi stuff, always kind of super hard to eat, makes my jaw hurt!

L: is for Lunch, what was yours today?
Oh goodness, so today was a Sunday, so it was a Kasten lunch kinda day, AKA BIG! I had a small piece of chicken, green beans, 2 red potatoes, salad, some hummus dipped with carrots and bagel chips, 2 glasses of iced tea (which I've recently discovered that I love!), and a few bites of Andrea's steak! Dessert, well that's a whole other sentence, a small slice of homemade angel food cake with strawberries, a tiny scoop of french vanilla gelato, and a tiny bite of homemade cheesecake with cherry sauce on top(basically I had a dessert sampler). (my list is huge, now I feel like I need to run... A LOT!) Lets just say Michael and I don't really have a real dinner on Sunday evenings after these kinda days!

M: is for microwave, what is your favorite microwave meal/snack?
POPCORN! duh!

N: is for nutrients, do you likes carbs, fats, or proteins best?
If I had to be real, I would think it would be carbs. But this question is weird, it's not like a favorite color question.

O: is for oil, what kind do you like to use?
I use extra virgin olive oil for cooking
P: is for protein, how do you get yours?
Um, chicken mainly?! Peanut butter too!

Q: is for Quaker, how do you like your oats?
Brown Sugar Oatmeal, hot, yum.

R: is for roasting, what is your favorite thing to roast?
Vegetables!!

S: is for sandwich, what’s your favorite kind?
Sandwiches bore me. Plus lunch meat is sometimes weird and slimy and freak me out so I like to stick to good ol' PB&J!

T: is for travel, how do you handle eating while traveling?
Um I eat, who cares, it's called vacation for a reason!

U: is for unique, what is one of your weirdest food combos?
I don't really know about this one, I eat things in a pretty normal fashion.

V: is for vitamins, what kind do you take?
Women's one-a-day... women you must take vitamins!

W: is for wasabi, yay or nay?
Nay, too spicy!
.
XRAY. if we xrayed your belly right now, what food would we see?
Uh double question?!/ I do think so!

Y: is for youth, what food reminds you of your childhood?
pigs in a blanket, mac and cheese, pb&j, pinwheels, fudgecicles, jello pudding, breakfast for dinner

Z: is for zucchini, how do you prepare it?
I LOVE zucchini, just a yummy veggie. Normally we just steam it, you don't have to do much to that veggie!

Well sorry if I totally bored you about food. Maybe I'll have something more interesting tomorrow! Lata gators!

Sunny Saturday!

I have been TERRIBLE at studying lately, but at least I've been enjoying my time?! This weekend is going pretty great thus far!!

Last night Michael, Bailey, Tim, and I went to see "The Hangover Part 2", the theater was PACKED. The movie was funny, basically the first movie in a different setting, but still brought about some chuckles.

This morning Michael and I tried to sleep in...buuuuuut....Michael had let the dogs sleep on the floor in our room last night and they started playing at like 6 in the morning. Then Carson kept coming to check on me, licking my face and what not. Luckily, I had told Michael if they were going to sleep in our room, he would have to deal with them when they woke up. So around 7 Michael took them downstairs but I couldn't seem to sleep past 8... OHHHH WELLLL. At least I tried.

I decided I should get a run in before it got too hot today. Carson and I did a 5k and returned sweaty, hot, and tired. As soon as I was home I changed my super sweaty shirt and headed out to get Miss Adrielle! She had mentioned once that she wanted to go to the library. So that's exactly where we went!! Adrielle and I hit up the Tates Creek Library. She picked out 5 books and was really excited. I was excited because I was able to get a Lexington Public Library Card..whoop whoop!!

The time spent in the library made me reminiscence about the summer time when my Mom would take my brother and I to the library. We would spend what seemed like a few hours there. On a quest to find the perfect books to bring home. I LOVED reading. That may be an understatement. I always completed the summer reading challenges early and LOVED getting all the prizes. So being there with Adrielle and suggesting books like "Way Side Stories from WaySide School" was very special to me. I loved that series!

Anywhoooo. After we checked out the books, I felt like it was one of those days when Adrielle and I needed some drinks to cool off. Azra had given me a gift card to Starbucks for my birthday so we hit it up. I ordered the iced passion tea with lemonade and Adrielle ordered the Double Chocolaty Chip Frappe (no coffee). Adrielle begged for a coffee product and I was like ...noooooo... she's 9 almost 10, there is no way she needs coffee. It's a big enough of a deal when she consumes sugar hahah!! She loved her drink though. She was cute and hilarious carrying her stuff from today, she looked like a little adult...super cute!!

As soon as I dropped Adrielle I received a text from my bestie, Becca, inviting me to her pool! I was like chyeah!! And went home, changed and headed over. And yes... I did get a nice little burn. I'm glad, I am loving getting some sun. We had a great time chatting by the pool, taking in the girl time was great!

Michael had been mowing all day, so when we both returned home it was time to go to the grocery. Not a bit of food in the house. I wanted to do something light and different for dinner tonight. I am tired of being stuck in my cooking rut so we got ingredients for Pasta Caprese. Michael and I both love Caprese salads, so we were excited about this and it turned out yummy. Basil and Tomatoes are the perfect summer combo! Michael also grilled up some chicken to have with it, and it was delish. We were also very lucky to eat outside, in perfect weather. I can't complain!!
Also, if you were curious, this is how Michael entertains us when we are outside. Tricking Carson to eat leaves, it is pretty entertaining if I may say so myself!
It looks like he is gently nibbling the leaf. He's such a gentle, loving doggie!

After dinner Michael and I got to enjoy our 2 favorite, bad for you desserts. For me, I had ice cream, tonight it was cookies and cream while Michael opened up a Sam Adams Cherry something or other. Surprisingly his beer did have a slight hint of cherries, weird!! While we indulged ourselves we popped in our most recent Netflix, "Scott Pilgrim versus the World" which was ok, entertaining enough and we got to cuddle on the couch.

It does seem like we watch an awful lot of movies, but after long days and week days, movies are a good relaxation for us, so I hope we don't come across as tooooo lame! Well that was a pretty long post already, so I'm gonna go clean up from dinner, ick! Goodnight!

Fill in the blank Friday

Hey folks!! Guess who's back?! Michael's back!! wooo!!! Anywhooooo, it's going to be another one of those fill in the blank fridays!! Enjoy!

1.   If I could get away somewhere for the weekend I would go  A beach, or maybe somewhere in the Carolinas and I would bring     my husband, sunglasses, and some iced tea.

2.  Something I often rant about is   being on time and cleanliness....I know, I'm super lame, but that's the truth!

3.  One item I need to have in my fridge at all time is    Brita water filter and skim milk (Michael and I are both daily cereal eaters)

4.  My "life-saving" product is   those sticky lint/fur roller things. With two dogs it gets pretty hairy around here. These are always great to keep in the car and roll all over your body before getting out and going to your more professional, dog-free setting

5.  A friend is someone who     doesn't mind if you randomly show up where they are. Who checks up on you, without you having to do it first all the time. Someone who is willing to drive when you go out so that everyone else can have a good time. Someone who doesn't care/judge if your first go-to emotion is crying.

6.  If I could write my own blank it would be      whatcha favorite color baby? Blue and white!

7.  My favorite kind of art is       photography. I don't really get a lot of the art that I see today. When my brother and I were in Madrid we went to a museum and all of the Salvador Dali and Picasso art was just confusing to me and don't even get me started on the more recent "modern" stuff, it's just confusing to me!

Rain Drops Keep Fallin' on my Head

Hiya! Happy Thursday to you, it's almost Friday! Today was a pretty good day.

I mean I did get to see my bestie, Olivia,  from way back in high school and beyond today, under super sad circumstances though (long story but it is related to the terrible plane crash headed to Hazard, KY), I hopefully cheered here up a little as we cheered on her little brother at the State Tennis Tournament! I also got to go to Panera with her awesome family AND we got to stop by at Genos to say hi to Miss Bailey! This is the quintessential Ashley and Olivia picture from the summer of 2006 going to Montreat! What good times, I love this girl and we always have a great time together!
After filling up on Panera salad and mac n cheese, I headed home and after a bit convinced myself I needed to run. As soon as I decided that I looked outside and it was pouring. Lame. BUUUUUT about 20 minutes later it was gone! I quickly changed my clothes and headed outside. I ran my 5k route Carsonless tonight, I just couldn't stand leaving Willis all by his lonesome. My run was pretty great, I felt good and speedy and sweaty! One awesome thing about the run was the rain water on the trees. Since Lexington has huge, old trees throughout it's neighborhoods there are TONS of leaves that cover an area. So as I was running and the wind would blow all of the rain would fall of the trees. At one point I thought it was raining again. But then looked up, realized I was under a tree, smiled, and thanked the Lord for the glorious trees he has given us and the fact that I could run under them! That is one of my FAVORITE things about Lexington, a lot of the trees are mature trees, with character, that have seen so many things over time. Where I'm from neighborhoods have recently been developed on old farmland, so it is pretty tree-less. I love, cherish, and appreciate these leafed beauties every single day!

When I got home I was still feelin bad about the pups, so don't worry, I took them for a stroll around the loop, which was their 2nd walk for the day! These guys don't normally get one walk a day so this was a special treat!

Well that's about it for tonight. One thing that I ask of you is to pray for the families and friends of those involved in the plane crash and take a second to be thankful for the life you are given, for you never know when it will be taken away.

God Bless you!

Storm's a comin'

Howdy folks. I am tired. Another day-long class and a sweaty after dinner run makes for a tired, lonesome Ashey. And apparently a BIG storm is coming tonight, later on, like capable of producing a tornado type of storm. I'm worried cause I'm home alone and may miss all of the warnings and what-not. Hopefully that won't happen!

One thing I am curious about is if people have this same problem as me. You see, I have Netflix, and I put movies in my queue, movies that I think I haven't seen before. Then I get to watching them and realize I have. Does this happen to others beside me? I sure hope so. Or maybe Hollywood has just run out of ideas for movies and keeps making the same thing over and over. But really, it is my forgetfulness...oh well....

Michael is keeping me kept up with his Ashland happenings, he sent me some iPhone pics and told me about his run through SUPER hilly Ashland...here's what he is sending me in case you were curious!
Pics of Mamaw's house...where he'll be living by his lonesome for the next month:

What Michael bought when he went to the grocery...he also discovered Peach Tea and made a huge container of it and sent me pics of that too, he mentioned that it has 0 calories so it was way better than drinking soda all day long haha silly boy! I just took a second look at the picture and I noticed there is not a single fruit or veggie in his purchase, unless you count the spaghetti sauce or the sugary fruit flavored filling of the poptarts. dang, at least I reminded that boy to take his vitamins with him! What's a girl to do?!

Well I'm off to bed, I'm soooo tired! I think I may allow the pups to sleep on the floor in our room tonight, I don't want them to get swept up in the storm or maybe they will be like Lassie and warn me that the storms comin in. Is the safest place for us to be in the bathroom on the first floor? cause that's the only interior, windowless room downstairs that we have, unless you count the closets. Oh I can see it now, hanging out in a dark closet for hours...anywhooooo, goodnight!

Gone to Ashland

Today Michael sadly left for Ashland...which I could easily mistake for Ashley-land ... booo... he will be there for the next month working in a pediatrics outpatient clinic, although he will be returning on the weekends, it is going to stink especially since I don't really  have classes this next month. Ok, well I do have 4 days of classes, which I started today, 10 hour days, ick. I won't even begin to bore you with the details, because believe meeee it is BORING! Anyway...for those of you not from around my neck of the woods, here are some Ashland facts, pictures, etc:

This is the jail, ahem excuse me, building Michael will be working at in South Shore, KY (about a 30 mile drive from Ashland)
Michael will be staying at Mamaw's old house, which also houses this glorious beaut! :)

Ashland is located on the banks of the Ohio River touching West Virginia

Population of about 288,000 gangstas ....AKA people

You may have heard of Ashland Oil --> it came from here

AK Steel is also located here, my brother had a job interview there for a co-op

Michael informs me that one of it's public libraries just recently opened up in their mall, which is apparently larger than the Fayette Mall, but has a lot of empty stores.

The Judds are from Ashland -- as in -- Wynonna and Naomi (they have won 5 grammy awards)
Michael tells me the city is actually quite quaint and cute :) -- including the Central Park in the middle of downtown Ashland

So there you go, that's what I (meaning me and Wikipedia) know about Ashland. Hopefully I'll be making a trip down there to explore the city!

Also, today I got to Skype for the very first time. Michael was at the library (his gma's house does not have Wifi, surprise surprise, or a tv) and it was hilarious, I'm sure he looked like a Mr. Silly Pants talkin to himself on the computer, it's a great way to make friends. It was also great cause Michael could say hi to the dogs and they couldn't seem to figure out where he was...awesome!!

Since I was on Skype, I also got to have a little face-time with Mr. JBoh, I love him so and miss him dearly. He says he is going to see me soon, so I hope so!!
After some Skyping it was time to love on my pups, we went on like a 3 mile brisk walk, while I phoned some family and chatted with Michael some more... I'm gonna be lonely without Mr. Michael here, but I can do it!! Well that's about it for today! I 'll talk with ya tomorrow!

Oh the IRONy

I played with the "instagram" app on Michael's phone tonight...here is some of my playing:

Michael had to iron all of his dress shirts, I had refused because he had let them accumulate to a ridiculous amount, he ironed a total of 14 dress shirts!

A picture Michael took of Carson a few weekends ago...

This was from our scavenger hunt at Meijer... "something that used to swim" ... otherwise, shrimp boobs!

Another scavenger hunt pic, everyone in the group wearing the same shirt. These were from the little boys section, Jonathan was HILARIOUS putting his shirt on... (kinda blurry, we were rushed and had to fit all 4 of us in)

Not something you wanna see... (scavenger hunt - "gloves")

In a garbage can being Oscar the Grouch!

I want to ride my tricycle ... I want to ride my trike ... I want to ride my tricycle I want to ride it where I'd like...

And the best for last, we had to find our "team mascot"....we luckily found this on the clearance table, the "hernia guard"! hahaha! (Turn your head and cough- Michael)

Talk about a fun night!

So Becca's birthday celebration last night was SO much fun, even despite the torrential downpour, monsoon that started as Amanda and I were headed out the door to meet Becca! I think it is safe to say that EVERYONE involved in the celebration had a great time!!

We met a lot of Becca's friends at the bar to watch the show, here's a little documentation from the night:

Great times were had!! Today was a lazy day, although I did get up and make a breakfast of bacon and pancakes (since we did not have any cereal in our house) so Michael, Amanda, and I got to enjoy a nice breakfast. The remainder of the day was spent bein a bum, I watched a lot of Ugly Betty. The good time of the day came during bible study!!

We met at Meijer for bible study, had a short lesson, then broke up into 2 teams and had a scavenger hunt!!! it was awesome, love playing with these guys!! Our team ended up blowing the other team outta the water! WOOT WOOT! After hanging out and talking for a bit 6 of us decided to go to Orange Leaf, where we consumed some delish fro-yo and talked for a good amount of time. We started asking each other questions like who would be the actor who would play you, or what super power would you have if you could? It was tons of fun!! I don't know what I would do if we didn't have such a great group of friends! So basically, I loved the weekend!! And now I'm super sad that it's coming to a close, also because Michael leaves tomorrow and I'll be all by my lonesome all week :( OH WELL!

I hope you all had a great weekend like I did!! Chat at ya tomorrow!

Stop ...hey! What's that sound?

Ok, ok...so that's not really what I'm talking about I'm talking about the sound of this:
NEW A/C unit!! Cool air blowing through our vents... We had no problem saying goodbye to this old thing!
Steve actually came by and took the old A/C stuff and got like $70 out of it, I say that's a good deal! But honestly, I am so relieved that we got this taken care of before Michael leaves for Ashland for a month on Monday evening (boo :()

So today was a nice day, not busy with too much, but enjoyable! Michael and I woke up and were lazy, it was wonderful. Then Michael dropped me and the pups off at the dog park while he went to mow his Grandma's yard, he then came back, with mamaw in tow and headed over to his parents to mow. Where I hung out with the dogs, sunned myself and watched a little tv. You can tell the doggies enjoyed themselves and the heat!

They are definitely passed out!

So in -- I'm obviously a newlywed news -- Michael and I will be having our first house guest staying the night tonight!! We don't really have an extra bedroom, but the couch in the office is a pullout so miss Amanda Myser will be gracing that lovely contraption tonight (I have never slept on it before so I hope she doesn't hate me for it!) Manders is coming out with me tonight to celebrate miss Becca Boo's 23rd birthday!! fun times to be had (that's why I'm writing earlier than usual! Here's what Amanda's sleeping quarters look like..
Carson has decided that he loves getting under any bed and claimed this space to be his:
And that's about it.. I will leave you with some goofy pictures Michael and I took before I posted this! (Note: Michael and I have been outside all day and not showered...so we're gross...don't judge!) I hope you enjoy your Saturday evening!

Fill in the blank Friday

1.   People always tell me I look like      Jennifer Love Hewitt... I don't see it... but whatevs! Do you agree, or can you think of someone else?

2.  Friends don't let friends    walk around with a honking piece of black stuff between their teeth. Michael and I always do a teeth check after eating. Michael's dad always cracks up when he see's us do it. But I also do it with my friends, I can recall asking Becca many a time if there is something in my teeth!

3.  A sunny day is perfect for     going to the dog park with my boys, going on a walk, going kayaking, going hiking, going running, going to the arboretum, going on a picnic...you get my gist!

4.  My favorite accessory is   my wedding ring and engagement ring...the only jewelry I honestly ever wear. I never wore rings before I got engaged and now I feel naked without these 2 special rings, but I still haven't really become all that crazy about other jewelry

5.  If I could afford it I would    travel. I need to go somewhere. I used to travel sooo much and I'm just itching to go SOMEWHERE...I need a VACA! It's funny cause I just renewed my passport (AKA $110) and I have no where to go!

6.  The cure for boredom is       reading or finding TV shows on Netflix and watching the ENTIRE series!

7.  I am currently "in like" with      reading blogs, "Ugly Betty", Interval Training on the treadmill, cut up apples for lunch, Special K cereal, using our small shark vacuum to clean everything!

Today was another pretty good day. Nothing that I can hate on at all actually!!
-Got up, went to work for a couple hours

-Headed to Breckinridge Elementary to have lunch with Miss Adrielle
OK, so I haven't been in an elementary school in a WHILE I suppose and it was just so weird and different and totally different from what my elementary school looked like, felt like, etc. I got there WAY too early and ended up sitting in a chair in the hallway waiting until I saw Adrielle's class come up to lunch at 11:53. Is it weird that I was super nervous about being there? That I was afraid the little kids would be mean to me and make fun of me, that's really how I felt!! Well as I waited I watched the kids. As some of them walked down the hallway they would look at me and wave and smile and then do something silly. I also noticed that down each hallway there were 2 lines, and the kids had to walk down the lines, arms to their sides, no talking. And when they went up the stairs they had to hold the railing and walk up the stairs. If a student jogged up the stairs the teacher made them go back and walk up the stairs, a tad bit ridiculous if I say so myself! Also when I was sitting there a maybe 4th or 5th grader was leaning out the main office door, he saw someone down the hall he knew and he said "whatchu looking at a*#hole"...I was like GEEZ WOAH! I looked at him and told him that was not right and he said "I don't care" and went back to his business.

Well Adrielle finally showed up at 11:53 as their teacher screamed at them as they walked down the hallway. I jumped in line with her and she nearly peed with excitement, she had no idea I was coming. We joined the lunch line and Adrielle grabbed an uncrustable, a tiny cup of mashed potatoes, 1/2 an orange, and the tiniest little salad I have EVER seen, like maybe 5 pieces of lettuce, how does that even count as a salad, I'm not sure. Their lunches were totally different from what I was used to. I remember tons of food, and then MANY options for desserts at the end and then the extra stuff like ice cream, cookies, etc. They didn't have that there, which I guess is a good thing, the kids don't need to be filling up on bad stuff like I did in high school. In high school I would sometimes eat maybe a chocolate chip cookie and a bag of chips or a soft pretzel or something, BAD Ashley! Anyway, we went to sit down in their tiny cafeteria and began chowing down.

The kid next to Adrielle had a brought beef jerky and was sharing it with the girls around him. One of Adrielles friends was talking about how her Dad taught her the way to say the "s" word in Spanish and how he forced her to flick off her mom by threatening to spank her. GEEZ again! Lunch was definitely interesting. The 4th grade class got screamed at a lot, the lunch supervisor put them at "Zero Level Noise" for about 3/4 of the lunch, but everytime she walked away the noise level would return and she would scream again. As lunch wrapped up 25 minutes later the kids all got in line, threw away there stuff and then formed a line to leave as another teacher began to tell them how bad they had been all day and they weren't allowed to talk, even when I was trying to say bye to Adrielle the teacher was like "NO TALKING!!!!!" Despite the craziness of visiting, Adrielle said she would LOVE for me to come back again and I think I will, it probably wouldn't hurt to try and be a good influence on her and her friends at lunch. Overall a good time, but also very eye opening. And yay, no one made fun of me!

Also, today I had another GREAT workout! I did 30 minutes on the treadmill doing the same intervals I did last time. I think this interval thing makes me sweat more than usual, I probably released like a pint of sweat, it was ridiculous, I was soaked head to toe and exhausted too! I then went to do arms. Man I tried to start with 10lbs, but apparently I am super weak, so I went to 8. I'm not sure if it was just me being tired from running or what, but even 8 was hard for me to do, my arms shaking, me sweating like crazy still!! But I did some work on my arms, then some abs, squats, and lunges, stretched a little, and by that time I was exhausted and ready to leave. My body pumping full of endorphins. I hope this positive workout attitude stays with me for a bit, cause I really do enjoy it!!

Well that about sums up my day. It looks like it is finally going to warm up tomorrow after a week of rain and chilly weather, I am definitely looking forward to that since summer to me entails some sun yo!! I hope you had a great Thursday and I'll be back here tomorrow!

whew...I feel a little better

Hey friends! So today I feel a little better than I did yesterday, lets just say I let my emotions get the best of me yesterday and I sunk into a great hole of despair. I let myself feel bad for myself, I wallowed, I cried. How lame am I ?! Super! I even tried to go to bed at 10 when Michael came into the room and threw down the game Yahtzee and forced me to play. Luckily I won, and then went to sleep cause another round of the obnoxious banging of the dice against a plastic cup isn't really the soothing sound you need before bed.

So how have I picked myself back up today?! I have hit the internet and hit it hard. Emailing...like crazy...everywhere. Ok, well not everywhere but a lot of places...
How else you say?! Wellll I met my fav accountability partner, Vanna, at Magees at 8 am this morning and indulged in my usual sesame bagel, toasted, with cream cheese. I love chatting with this girl. It's great to have a close friend who is newly married like me, we have so many things in common and face a lot of the same things. She knew how to reassure me ! :)

How else did I pick myself back up?? Well after work (where I emailed and emailed and emailed) I headed to the good ol JC, I can always count on that place! And I finally did my interval run. GEEZ it was hot in there today, gray shirt, bad choice. This is what my shirt looked like after a 25 minute run:
The interval thing wasn't too hard. I did 4 minutes of 7.0 running and then one minute of a sprint somewhere between 8.5-9.0.  So i did 5 sets of those --ending up with a 25 minute run that ended at 3:52..I quickly jumped off the treadmill and ran to the fitness class room where I met Brittany for a Zumba class at 4... I ended up working out for almost an hour and a half and I felt GREAT!!

After working out I headed home and threw together a dinner of shake and bake, coucous, and veggies. Michael and I chowed down and now I am right back to the job search. Emailing my resume out like crazy. Searching and scouring the internet. I will do this. I can do this. I WILL find a job.
